The major sponsor of a high profile football club commenced legal action in the Supreme Court in a bid to end a $3 million sponsorship. The club accused the sponsor of breaching its contract.

Solution

Reputation Edge was engaged by the sponsor to provide PR and communications support during the legal proceedings. We developed a detailed Key Message document to defend the sponsor’s decision to launch legal action. We also conducted a media training session with a senior executive ahead of his appearance in court.

Results

The Supreme Court denied the club’s application to wind up the sponsor. Negative media coverage of the sponsor has also ended.
